Sweet and sour pork (咕嚕肉)

Serves: 2

Ingredients:
500g pork ribs (or pork), cut into small pieces
3 Peppers, cut into small pieces
4 slices of pineapples, cut into small pieces
1 egg
5 tbsp corn flour
Vegetable oil
4 tbsp vinegar
5 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp ketchup
1/3 cup of water
1/2 tbsp Salt
1/2 tbsp Pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce


Methods:
1. Marinade the pork with salt, pepper and soy sauce for 20 min


2. Beat the egg into a bowl, put the corn flour into another bowl.


3. Dip each pork rib into the egg then the corn flour to make batter


4. Heat vegetable oil into a saucepan, deep fry the pork ribs until brown. Remove the ribs and drain on paper towel


5. In a small bowl, mix the vinegar, sugar, ketchup and water to make sweet and sour sauce.


6. Heat oil in a sauce pan, add in pepper, ribs and pineapples and cook for 8 min.


7. Mix in the sweet and sour sauce and cook for a further 2 min

燒肉韮菜豆腐 (Roast pork with Kaw Choi and tofu)

Ingredients:
一份 燒肉 (1 portion of roast pork)
一包 韮菜, 分段 (1 pack of Kaw Choi, cut into 2 inch)
一盒 豆腐, 切成小塊 (1 pack of tofu, cut into small pieces)
1 tbsp vegetable oil

Methods:
1. Heat oil in saucepan and cook the tofu for 5 min, remove from pan

2. Add in roast pork and Kaw Choi into the saucepan, cook for 5 min then mix in the tofu and cook for a further 5 min

Ingredients:
2 slices of thick white bread
1 large egg (or 2 small eggs)
Peanut butter
Vegetable oil / Olive oil
Butter
Maple syrup / honey

Methods:
1. Sandwich the two thick slices of bread with peanut butter

2. Whisk the egg on a plate, immerse one side of the sandwich in it for 2 min, then turn to the other side and immerse for another 2 min

3. Heat enough oil in a sauce pan that can cover the whole surface, fry the sandwich for 1 min, then turn to the other side and fry for another 1 min

4. Remove from pan, spread butter onto the bread and serve with syrup

Penne with sausage in tomato sauce

Penne with sausage in tomato sauce

Ingredients:
300g penne
4 sausages
1 onion, sliced
150g mushroom, quartered
1 clove of garlic, chopped
4 tomatoes, quartered
2 tbsp tomato pesto
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
1 tbsp vegetable oil

Methods:
1. Heat oil in a frying pan and cook the sausages for about 5 min until brown.

2. Remove from pan and cut into 1 inch pieces.

3. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water for 10 min until tender. Meanwhile, fry the garlic, onion, mushroom, tomatoes, sausage pieces and pesto, season with salt and pepper.

4. Drain the pasta, stir in the sauce and serve.

Ingredients:
500g pork ribs, chop into small pieces
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp white wine
2 tbsp vinegar
3 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp soy sauce
5 tbsp water

Methods:
1. Heat oil in a saucepan, add in the ribs and cook for 5 min.

2. Mix in the wine, sugar, vinegar, water and soy sauce and let it cook for a further 10 min.

Chicken with celery

Ingredients:
500g chicken thighs, cut into small pieces
8 sticks of celery, cut into small pieces
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp corn flour
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper

Methods:
1. Marinade the chicken with soy sauce, salt, pepper, corn flour and ½ tbsp sesame oil for 30 min

2. Heat ½ tbsp sesame oil in sauce pan, add in the chicken and cook for 8 min

3. Mix in the celery and cook for a further 8 min.

Fried Salmon

Fried salmon

Ingredients:
2 slices of salmon
1 tbsp vegetable oil
½ cup of water
Pinch of salt
Corn flour
Soy sauce

Methods:
1. Clean the salmon, dry with kitchen towel

2. Put some salt onto both side of the salmon, and use your finger to spread them evenly

3. Put some corn flour on top of the salt on both side of the salmon, and spread them evenly

4. Heat oil in a saucepan, add in the salmon and cook for 1 min, then turn to the other side

5. Add in the water, close the lid and cook for a further 8 min

6. Put the salmon onto a plate and pour some soy sauce to finish

蜜桃大菜糕 (Peach agar)

Ingredients:
½ can of sliced peach, halved
5g 大菜 (agar)
75g sugar
500ml water

Methods:
1. Add sugar and agar in boiling water until they dissolved

2. Pour the mixture into a container, add in and spread out the peach.

3. Let it cool down and settle before putting it into the fridge.

Roast lamb with potato

Roast lamb with potato

Ingredients:
1kg lamb (joint or leg)
5 medium sized potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1cm thick
5 tbsp olive oil
½ cup of milk
4 garlic cloves, chopped
Salt
Black Pepper
Rosemary

Method:
1. Heat oven to 200oC. Make deep incisions all over the lamb using a small knife. Season the lamb with salt, pepper and rosemary, and push the mixture into the incisions.


2. Put the lamb into a roasting tray, drizzle with olive oil and put into the oven for 20 min.


3. Boil the potatoes with salt water for 5 min, drain them and season with salt and pepper.


4. Take the lamb out of the tray, arrange the potatoes on the tray and pour in the milk. Put the lamb back on top of the potatoes and roast together for another 40 min.

2. Pour in a cup of water, cook for a further 5 min


3. Mix in tomatoes, salt and pepper, cook for a further 5 min
