Spring onion
21st April, 2007, SaturdayIngredients
In my experience, spring onion costs quite abit in supermarket, and it often comes as a bunch. I usually don't need that much spring onion in my cooking, and they all ended up wasted sitting in my fridge.
Not long ago I came across a website and realised that spring onion can grow in a glass of water! If it's true, it will be very handy for people like me, living in a flat in London where there is no garden to plant them. So I'm trying now, 2 days ago I took a spring onion out from my fridge, cut the green bits for my cooking, and leave the root in a glass of water near to my kitchen window.
And look at the picture, after 2 days in water, the spring onion grew rapidly, all those green bits are new! This is a great news for me~
